Captain’s Mug Meeting Minutes

Read by all and approved (Dave M/Jake).


Budget was reviewed by Scott and accepted.

New Business

Club Cabinet

Cabinet options were discussed including repairing the current cabinet vs purchasing a bigger / better plastic one vs constructing a wooden one.  Permission for a new cabinet has already been obtained from the park.

Motion to vote (Michelle/Jason F).  The construction of a wooden cabinet was approved.  Cabinet to be built by Dave MacDonald.

Website Updates

Dave Haberman has agreed to be the club’s Webmaster and will work to enhance the current login features to make it easier to use.

LASC Gear – CafePress.com

The club is looking to create LASC items for membership to purchase from CafePress.com.  Need help from a creative person to design graphics for items.  Club would consider using LASC marked merchandise as prizes for member participation in club events.


Dave MacDonald has volunteered to be this year’s race director.

He plans 7 races scheduled with 1:00 PM start times.  Additional race may be added in conjunction with the Sand Bar Bash with a possible start at Watt’s Bay and ending at the sand bar.


The Regatta Committee is looking for LASC to coordinate a Boat parade, like last year.  Jake Wagner will represent LASC with the Regatta Committee and coordinate LASC’s participation.  The Regatta schedule will include a Saturday round-the-buoy race.  Sunday will feature a bridge-to-bridge race which will be broken into several classes.

Schedule of Club Events

A proposed scheduled of LASC activities was discussed and the following changes made:

  • Removal of Christmas in July (i.e.: one Christmas party is enough).

  • Add a raft up with/appetizers to be passed between boats (August 25).

  • Christmas Party – Looking for a location for Christmas party. Discussed renting a hall.

  • Captain’s Mug – looking for a location for the dinner. We would prefer not to use the                                      run-down and expensive to rent Moraine Activity Center as a location.  Scott will scout out locations.
